I spent nearly all day at the hospital yesterday. Eve didn't do well at our first feeding (one event), then rocked her next two feedings. Between her first and second feedings, she kept desatting and had a hard time coming up. She also had another event. She hasn't had any since she was on the high side, so it was surprising (and disappointing). Because she was having such a hard time, I asked to talk to her doctor. The doctor said he put in an order for more lasix and to go back to her nebulizer treatments. Hopefully these will give her lungs the boost they need so that she continues to get well.
After spending time with her, I had my infant CPR class. Although I already have my certification, I am terrified that I'll panic if I actually have to perform it. Soooo, the more practice the better! The sign up was full, but I ended up being the only one that showed. It was actually cool because I got to ask as many questions as I needed and go at my own pace. I learn so much better when I know the "why" behind everything, so after my hundreds of questions I feel like I have another medical class behind me, haha!
No visit today, but at my last phone call, Eve has already had two more events today. Completely bummed as each event means to tack on 5-7 more days until her homecoming.
In fun news, I chatted with the dads of Eve's roomate yesterday. Their twin sons were also her roommates back in the day on the intensive side. We were chatting about baby items and they said they got a Keurig type of machine for baby formula. It's so genius that I wish it was my idea. I have no idea after my other kids as to how to warm a bottle and get it to the right temperature! Moms, help me! Or better yet, I'm telling the hubs it's a necessity. ;)
Attaching pics today of Evie-girl in her monogrammed onesie from her godmother. She looks so chunky in the pics, but it really is a preemie size onesie she is wearing!
