I love that this has turned into a dull blog. No news. :)
Eve looked really good today. Her color was better and she looked healthy. The nurse said she gave her her first sponge bath today. She said when she took off all the CPAP equipment, she gave her little head a massage and Eve stretched out and loved it! Her feeds were at 5 ml today and still increasing. Her blood work showed that her bili levels had started to come down without the medicine, but still high enough that she did get the first dose today anyway. Her breathing today was better than yesterday, so still truckin' along on CPAP, probably for a long time.
We all drove up to see her today. Bill and I did the tag team visit as the other kiddos couldn't go back to the NICU. I don't know how we could do it without wi-fi and Netflix! Anyway, I held her for an hour and she slept the whole time. Bill held her for an hour and Eve was alert the whole time, looking up at him. Daddy's girl already -- I called it long ago!
All in all, a good day. I love her little baby smells, although can't wait until she is cord-free so I can get to the baby sweet spot. Her nurse also suggested bringing in blankets from home so she could smell me and for me to take Eve's blankets home so I could smell her. It's good for the milk truck. ;)
Gripe: Eve's nurse told me the respiratory therapist told her yesterday that she let me hold the baby for too long. I told her it's a good thing the therapist didn't say it to me or I would have turned Dragon Lady on her. Yes guys, I'm starting to feel like myself again!!
