Well, the ram cannula didn't work for long. Eve is back on the cpap with all the headgear. (I'm sure there is a real name for that, but it is escaping my memory.) I'm bummed about her setback and failure of her lungs to improve. My husband is one lucky guy tonight dealing with my snarly attitude.
Her feeds have increased to 22 ml every 3 hours and those are still going well. She is finished with her Actagol (the meds for her liver function) and the topical antibiotic (for the bump on her forehead). She started nebulizer treatment with the therapist today. She has Pulmocort and Albuterol, again for lung function. Her lungs are obviously the biggest hurdle to her improvement right now.
Tomorrow she will have another follow-up head scan and also a chest x-ray now that she has started the nebulizer treatment.
No visit today. I forgot to mention that she had a fantastic nurse for 3 nights in a row this week and that I asked if she could be one of Eve's primary nurses. I felt nervous, like I was asking her on a date, but she accepted -- yay for great nurses and yay for me snatching up the good ones for Eve! I'm so thankful for the staff there as they are making this stressful journey a little easier.
Thanks for your transparency with all of us tracking Eve's progress and praying. I love that you can still have a sense of humor through it all :-)
